About

Hello! I'm glad you're here!

I'm a final year PhD candidate in Robotics, with a dynamic blend of experiences from my academic journey. I began exploring the exciting world of soft sensors during my undergraduate studies in Mechatronics while working at the Biomimetics Lab in the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, where I gained hands-on experience with this innovative technology.

Currently, I conduct advance research at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab while a PhD candidate in the argallab which is part of the Center for Robotics and Biosystems at Northwestern University.  My dissertation research is focused on assistive technology and interfaces, pushing the boundaries of human-robot collaboration. The goal of my research is to bridge the gap between clinical science and engineering, utilizing robotics to enhance human capabilities and to make our world more accessible.

Feel free to drop me a line anytime! If you're passionate about robotics, have ideas to swap, or want to dive deep into some thought-provoking discussions about assistive tech, I'm all in. We're on this journey together to make the world more accessible. Can't wait to hear from you!

Sincerely,

Mahdieh Nejati
